It seems that my quest for a hippopotamus has reached the national level. I checked my email this morning to find a message from someone I had never met before. Upon reading it I found it was from a friend of a friend who reads my blog. 
Alas, I still don't have a hippo, but this friend of a friend sent me a couple of photos he had taken while at the zoo. So thank you Kirk, while it is patently NOT an actual hippo in person so to speak, the photos did make me smile.
